"Maybe when things turn green again, it'll be good to say you know me" Do you know what analogy John's making in that line? It seems like by saying "green" he means "good." Why did he pick the color green? I just don't get that metaphor, do you?
I think that line means that when he has been “repaired” and has moved on,he’ll be like friend of his ex and it won’t hurt that bad, but not completely forget her, you know, you never really stop loving someone you just move on. Green symbolizes hope, maybe that’s the reason.

These days I’m so emotionally fucked up but when I hear john’s voice suddenly everything is fine and nothing hurts, It’s amazing how this wonderful man influences my life for better, It’s just incredible. I have no words to describe how much I love him. Thank God for John Mayer!
